Mr. Horton’s background as a builder, contractor and project manager over the last 30 years serves as the foundation for his work as a reserve study provider
As a contractor and builder Mr. Horton gained extensive experience with blueprint reading, contract & specifications writing, job costing, scheduling and estimating; disciplines that have been particularly well suited to his transition into the field of preparing reserve studies and maintenance programs for community associations.
Over the past two years he has developed reserve studies and maintenance programs for communities ranging in size two members to over three hundred unit owners. His projects have involved residential and commercial condominiums as well as mixed-use projects typical of the current trend in urban condominium development.
In October 2006 he was awarded the Reserve Specialist (RS) designation by the Community Associations Institute (CAI), the industry recognized standard for reserve study professionals.
He works closely with the legal team when developing a reserve study and maintenance program for a new community association and is readily available to assist board members when working for existing community association clients.
